Inclement Weather Procedures

Due to snow, ice or any other unforeseen circumstances, Sikeston R-6 may need to cancel school on a particular day. Below are the communications plan and procedures for district and buildings. 


District Communications Plan:

  1. Once the Superintendent and Transportation Director confirm the need for a cancellation, they will contact Communications.

  1. Communications will 

    1. contact staff and parents/guardians via text.

    2. post on social media.

    3. contact local news and radio stations.
       

Procedures at Building Level:

  • AMI Inclement Weather Day

    • All teachers will work from home providing education through Google Classroom, Class Dojo, paper packets, and/or any other resources available. 

    • Students are expected to do school work at home. 

    • Building administration and office staff will be available to answer any questions or concerns via phone. 

    • All teachers, counselors, academic coaches, nurses, etc. will be available to answer questions or concerns via Google Classroom, Class Dojo, and/or email. 

  • Inclement Weather Day

    • Students will not be expected to do school work at home.
