Due to fog, inclement weather, or any other unforeseen circumstances, Sikeston R-6 may need to delay the start of school on a particular day. Below are the communications plan and procedures for district and buildings.
District Communications Plan:
Once Superintendent and Transportation Director confirm the need for a delay, they will contact Communications.
Communications will contact staff and parents/guardians via text/call.
Communications will post on social media.
Communications will contact local news and radio stations.
Procedures at Building Level:
All school buildings will delay drop off and start times by 60 minutes.
No students may be dropped off at original drop off times.
