Holifield named head volleyball coach at SHS

Sikeston R-6 School District announced on Wednesday Chelsie Holifield will be the next head volleyball coach at Sikeston High School.

The district began the task of searching for a new volleyball coach after the resignation of current head coach Emily Pullen.

The district held interviews with students, parents, staff and administration to help in the selection process.

"I’m truly honored to take on this new role as Sikeston High School’s head volleyball coach,” Holifield said.

Holifield has been the senior high Spanish teacher for six years, the junior high volleyball coach for three years and senior high assistant volleyball coach for two years.

“Volleyball has always been a major passion in my life, and now I have the opportunity to bring my passion to the community and school that has welcomed me with open arms," Holifield said. "I’m excited to give this program my all.”
