This afternoon, the Sikeston Board of Education and Sikeston R-6 administration met to discuss how to move forward after the resignation of the former football head coach. It was the Sikeston administration’s recommendation to interview an internal applicant, Mr. Treston Pulley.
“Mr. Pulley was considered for this position after further conversation and recommendations due to his great relationships with our student athletes and his work with his nonprofit Youth Empowerment 573 Lincoln League," says Human Resources Director Ms. Connie Dement. "We feel this gives him the experience to successfully manage the Sikeston R-6 Football program.”
The Board of Education voted unanimously to take the administration’s recommendation and later this afternoon, Mr. Pulley was interviewed by the hiring committee.
“After interviewing Mr. Pulley today, I believe everything has worked out the way it should have. We now have a young man who has proven his commitment to our school district and a true love for our students.” stated Assistant Superintendent Mrs. Shannon Holifield.
Superintendent Dr. Robinson continued, “Mr. Pulley is truly invested in our students, our community, and our football program. Mr. Pulley was born and raised a Bulldog and came back to Sikeston to empower, inspire, and support our youth to reach their full potential. He has proven that he has the tools to ignite that change and we will support him in that mission.”
